Bushcare Workshop

This one-day workshop comprises a classroom session and a field trip, and is the first step for those wanting to volunteer with the Bush For Life program. Why not ask a friend to come to the workshop with you?

What to bring:

  • Pen and notebook (handouts will be provided)
  • Your morning tea, snacks, lunch and water
  • Wet weather gear or hat and sunscreen (as appropriate)
  • Long pants, long sleeves and sturdy enclosed footwear are required to be worn for the field trip

Workshop content

  • The diversity of our native vegetation & basic ecology
  • Bush regeneration principles, strategies and methods for improving bushland health
  • Minimum disturbance weeding techniques
  • Working safely in the bush
  • Chemical and safety information
  • How to get involved as a Bush For Life volunteer
  • Field trip to practice bush regeneration techniques

IMPORTANT: If you have a medical condition that could affect you on the day and field, please inform the supervisors on the day.

Trees For Life takes the health and wellbeing of our workers and participants seriously. Please stay home if you are unwell.
